The festival of Rato Machindranath, celebrated in Lalitpur district by Newar community has been shifted till further notice on Thursday.

This year it was 12 years fair of Rato Machindranath which was being pulled from Bugamati but was interapted by massive earthquake on April 25. Since then, the chariot was stuck in Thasikot, Lalitpur.

But later on, with the meeting of concerned groups, decision made to pull the chariot from 10th June. But as group tried to pull chariot on 10th June, the chariot appeared to be in bad shape. And to avoid further damage to chariot and people, the community members of guthi sansthan has shifted the pulling of chariot till undefinate time issuing notice on June 11, Thursday.
