Hunt for acid attacker
It has been over a week since three teenager girls were attacked with acid by unknown persons and still they are at large.
Police are still clueless about the attackers though Home Minister Bamdev Gautam on Monday claimed that police are closing in on the perpetrator.
Addressing the State Affairs Committee of parliament, Home Minister Gautam said, “The girls were victimized by someone who knew them closely or was an acquaintance.”
Three girls were injured, two of them seriously, when an unidentified man hurled acid on them inside a classroom at a tuition center in Basantapur and fled the scene. The seriously injured are Sangita Magar, 16, and Sima Basnet, 15.
The government has trying its best to catch the perpetrators but not getting enough support from the victim’s side.
The two seriously injured victims are undergoing treatment at a Kathmandu hospital while another girl having minor injury has been already discharged from the hospital.
Nepal Police had formed a probe committee under the leadership of SP Mira Chaudhary of Metropolitan Police Crime Division, Hanumandhoka to investigate the case.
