NEA requests not to use colorful lights on Tihar
Nepal Electricity Authority(NEA) has requested general public not to use colorful lights during Tihar festival due to power shortage in the nation.
As the power production in the country is down by 68 megawatts, so it has issued a public notice on the eve of five day long festival.
NEA has also urged not use the electrical devices such as rice cookers, cloth irons, air conditioners and refrigerators during 5 to 10 pm starting from October 22 to 25.
Since Tihar is also known as “festival of lights”, the most of cities, shops and buildings along with streets are covered with colorful lights.
NEA has also cautioned citizens the power supply will be cut if the notice was found ignored.
