PM Sushil Koirala undergoes more tests in USA
Prime Minister Sushil Koirala underwent more tests at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, USA on Wednesday.
Hospital has recommendated some more tests and procedures for tomorrow and the day after tomorrow as well, according to the Permanent Mission of Nepal to the United Nations.
Also on Friday, the prime minister had undergone a number of medical tests at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
The examinations included CECT (chest) and PET scan and CT-guided FNAC (lungs). Anesthesia was administered while taking a biopsy sample.
Koirala is accompanied by his personal physician Dr Karbirnath Joshi, relatives Mridula Koirala and Atul Koirala, and security official Colonel Prakash Deuja.
He was operated in the tongue for cancer eight years ago.
Recently, doctors in Nepal had found white patches in his lungs. He had left for New York on June 15 for treatment of a suspicious black spot in one of his lungs. It was spotted in a CT-scan test conducted in Kathmandu.
