Prinsha wins a title in Miss Earth
KATHMANDU: Miss Nepal Earth 2014 Prinsha Shrestha has bagged a title of ‘Best Eco Beauty Video Award’ at Miss Earth 2014 pageant being held at Philippines.
Shrestha is one of the 10 winners from other 85 contestants who has bagged the title for her video Everest Potato Pancake on November 25.
Shweta Singh, CEO of The Hidden Treasure informed, “The contestants were divided in 10 different continents , one contestant from each continent has won the title. And Shrestha represents one of those continents, though we are not sure which continent she is representing,” Singh revealed.
Shrestha was honoured for her efforts to promote and bring together local farming with tourism in the Himalayas in her video as per a press release issued by The Hidden Treasure.
The vidoe showcases Shrestha’s journey to the Everest region of Nepal with an aim to boost the economic growth of the locals, and alleviate poverty through inclusive eco tourism. The three-minute 19 seconds long video further goes on to showcase the possibilites of promoting tourism through potato in the mountain region of the country. As such you can see Shrestha making potato pancake to be included in different hotels’ menu and signing a document.
Shree Gurung, the director of video expressed, “After hearing the news of Prinsha’s victory, I felt great. Nepal has been recognised in the world through this contest where all the 85 nations are participating. People have now seen that Mt Everest is in Nepal and many might have realised its potential in tourism. It feels that we have contributed from our side to introduce Nepal in an international arena.”
The Miss Nepal first runner up, Shrestha is currently in Philippines preparing for the Miss Earth finale to be held on November 29.
