Special street lamps for 18th Saarc Summit
Loadshedding will not effect street lights anymore. As Nepal Electricity Authority(NEA) is planning to install a special lamps in the main streets of Kathmandu prior to the 18th Saarc Summit which has been scheduled to be held on November in Kathmandu.
The installation of special lamps are being take place for the convenience of Summit guests, as the nation suffers nearly from six to seven hours of power cut daily.
The NEA has planned to lighten up all the main streets during night for the SAARC Summit. They will be installing solar lamps or if not then an uninterrrupted power supply lamps from NEA.
As the most of the street lamps don’t work during loadshedding due to their old condition.
They have planned to install special street lamps from the Tribhuvan International Airport to Soaltee Hotel, Jamal to SAARC Secretariat Office, Narayan Gopal Chowk, and New Road to Hanumandhoka.
Similarly, areas around the Tundikhel, City Hall and in Bhaktapur and Patan Durbar Squares, all those possible sites which will be visited by Summit guests, will be installed with special street lamps.
The NEA has demanded Rs. 210 million from the Ministry of Finance for its special street lamp s installation project.
