Anuradha Koirala was awarded with 2010 CNN Hero of the Year for her effort to stop women and girls trafficking. She has been continuously helping to rescue women and girls from sex slavery for 20 years. And she has already rescued more than 12,000 women and girls.

Anuradha Koirala is the founder of Maiti Nepal whose objective is to fight against sex trafficking on Nepalese girls and women for 20 years.
Anuradha is a crusader for women’s rights and the basic human dignity deserved by every female, especially in a society in which they are currently not valued or appreciated. She operates border surveillance stations at the Indian Border and on the border to Tibetan China,3 prevention schools, and 2 chronic care centers, and a school, in addition to housing 550 at the main rehabilitation center and children’s care facility at Kathmandu.
