Strict laws for Everest to controll illegal activities

As it is reported, the illegal activities has been increasing in the Everest. The Ministry of Culture, Toursim and Civil Aviation(MoCTCA) is planning to implement strict rules to monitor each and every activity.
Recently, a video call was established on the top of Everest which Nepal government has termed illegal. As the mountineer has not taken any permission from the authorized people to initiate video call.
Similarly, the fight between the sherpas and climbers has drawn the attention of whole world into the Everest, araising the security and peace on the roof of the world.
Along with this incident, the dead of three climbers on the eve of 60th anniversary of human ascend was came into light araising questions regarding health of the climbers too.
So overall the year of the 60th anniversary of human ascend of the Everest was controversial plus interesting. As many new records were added this year.
Minister of MOCTCA, Ram Kumar Shrestha has expressed their concern to bring much strict laws to monitor activities in the Everest during the Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal(TAAN) Day celebration to mark the Everest Diamond Jubilee Celebration.
He has also said that license issuing process will be made stricter and the age limit and health condition of the climbers will be strictly monitored. He als added that the government will not support any unauthorised video filming at Mt Everest. He added that both the government and non-government agencies should effectively implement garbage collection programme at the Everest too.
The ministry has also increased the general insurance of climbing assistants, and that of rescue operation and medical assistants. During the programme, Shrestha also suggested the people in the mountaineering sector to pay special attention to safety measures and coordinate with the government and non-government agencies for prompt action in case of accidents.
Officiating chief executive officer of Nepal Tourism Board Subash Nirola said that tourism should be promoted more systematically.Representatives from Nepal Mountaineering Association said that activities in the mountains should be controlled to preserve the tourism aspects of those regions. Wagchu Sherpa of Everest Summitteers Association asked the government to focus on the development of Solukhumbu and provide 30 per cent of total royalty earned to start different development programmes in the region.
The ceremonies to mark the 60th anniversary of the first ascent of Mt Everest being organised by the Diamond Jubilee Celebration Committee was concluded on Wednesday with a celebration at the Narayanhiti Palace Museum.
